Monday we had just arrived, so we kicked back and took it easy. On Tuesday, we toured the country west of Montreal. Saw some big (massive) houses and some historic sites, like the old canal system (below).
On Wednesday, we went into the big city itself. We visited the Old Town, featuring lost of big, old buildings and Notre Dame de Montreal (above). This church is huge, and you would not believe the amount of handi-work inside. Just as an example, check out what they have set up behind the altar (below). We also hit up the Jazz Festival, and saw a really good show by Back Door Slam. If you like Cream or blues rock, check these guys out.
Thursday had rain, so not a lot happened. I saw the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie and spent the whole movie utterly confused. Friday was more fun, some cousins of mine were up in their troller (basically a small yacht) and they took us on a trip down the St Lawrence.
Saturday we went back into the city to check out the other big church: St Joseph's Oratory (below). This church is in a beautiful location on Mount Royal, and is simply massive. We also checked out the park on Mount Royal and hiked up to a lookout overlooking downtown.
On Sunday, we packed our things and my Grandma took us out for dinner. Monday morning we went to the airport and flew into Halifax, and now I'm at Julie's parents' house. Below are some random pictures, which are, in order: the inside of St Joseph's oratory, Julie and my Grandma, and a couple photos of downtown Montreal (including the Jaques Cartier bridge), and a photo of me and my Uncle.
