The Big Meet

Hello all, I know it has been a while. I met up with Adam, even after he missed his train. We spent two days in Prague, checking out th sights and the Castle. We also went out to Kutna Hora to visit the Bone Church. Ooooh, creepy...

While in Kutna Hora, we stumbled across a "free" outdoor rock concert. They were playing a lot of american songs, but singing in Czech. Never thought I"d hear "Sweet Child Of Mine" sung in Czech, it was really cool and all the bands were quite good. Later that night, wandering around the streets, Adam and I got turned around and ended up at a free outdoor screening of "Into the Wild", all in English with Czech subtitles. It"s actually a pretty good movie (well, the half we saw was good, at least).

After Prague, we hit up Vienna. What to say about Vienna.... Beautiful, awesome, classy, just a really spectacular city. It should be a must on any Europe trip. Every time you turn a corner, there"s some new outstanding building waiting there to greet you. On top of that, we discovered a really cool outdoor market, which had everything from T-shirts to pigs feet (I didn"t have my camera, so no picture, sorry).

We spent a morning at the local Manor, which was basically a miniature Versailles. Really cool place, though.

We were there during the Film Festival, so we went to check it out. We saw a performance of Tchaikovsky"s Sleeping Beauty as performed by (drum roll please) the Canadian National Ballet. Mostly, though, we just wandered around and were amazed by the city.

Today, we arrived in Budapest. A little trouble finding a hostel, but we"re all set now and it should be a lot of fun.

And I"m having no luck uploading photos, so you"ll all just to have to wait, sorry.

One last thing for my parents, next time you talk to Adam"s parents, could you let them know that he"s relatively safe and sound (ie. he"s not dead yet).

Your parent's told me their internet is out. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it. You hippie.

Also, I'm pretty sure that iMac of theirs can't handle Blogspot anyway. Unless they've upgraded, I suppose.

You've sold me on Vienna, by the way. The glowing description combined with the added mystery of having no photos to demonstrate has convinced me that I simply MUST see this city for myself.
