Last Day in Lisbon

Well, since you've last heard from me, I've visited the village of Sintra (twice) to check out a cool old Moorish castle perched on a mountain top, a ridiculously nice palace perched even higher on the mountain top, a Toy Museum (featuring toys of Hitler, Mussolini and their possey), and this really sweet palace that has secret passages, a revolving stone doorway and dark tunnels leading all over the small estate. All really cool stuff and some of my favourite things on this trip.

I also took a trolley ride around Lisbon. Lots of fun, it's amazing that the trolleys can even fit down some of the streets they go down, and, being Lisbon, the streets they go up and down are REALLY steep. San Francisco's got nothing on this place.

I also went to the killer Oceanarium they have here. Sea Otters, Penguins, Octupus, Sun Fish (you have to look this thing up, it looks out of this world), Sharks, Manta Ray, you name it, they probably have it.

All told, Lisbon's been fantastic, maybe even my favourite place I've visited. Stay tuned for "Christian's Picks", a list of my favourite places in some random categories. Tomorrow, I'm heading out, starting my long trek back to Canada. I'm looking forward to seeing you all soon, take care!

The world is holding its collective breath waiting for the results of an election that can have drastic effects on the free world ... and you are playing with Hitler's toys.

See you in 48 hours!

OBAMA WON!!! WOOOOOOOOBERRIES!!!

Make a point of watching the Daily Show/Colbert Report tag team coverage of the election. I nearly died laughing. Seriously. I was on a treadmill at the time and my heart rate skyrocketed.

Also I'm writing a novel this month. Wish me luck!

Hitler's toys are cool, Obama is just some black dude with attitude. 48 hours... why did Zoom have to go bankrupt?

I'll have to pick up the Colbert Report when I get back, I'm guessing it'll be on every torrent site? And a novel in a month? Well, I'll dish out the rest of my good luck once I'm safely back in my country.

The whole thing will be up for free at www.comedynetwork.ca some time today I would imagine. And you can't JUST watch the Colbert Report, when I say Tag Team I meant that for the election they fused the two shows together.

Oh, and it snowed in GP. We made it 'til November, but it snowed.

Safe journeys back into North America!

I was actually in the middle of an acceptance speach for an award when I found out Obama won. He called me later to congratulate me.

Then I ran a 6:00 mile.

Then I manufactured drugs that save babies.

All in a day's work.

Perhaps I should mention that I'm not in shape, the novel is shoddily written at best (see NaNoWriMo.org for details as to why that is), and I am generally a failure in everything I set out to do.

I did win an award, but Obama did not call me about it.

I can't run a 6 minute mile, but I may be able to swim one in like 21 minutes.

The drugs I make may or may not save children. I don't really know.
