Barcelona was a pretty neat place, despite being the worst experience of my trip. Bedbugs suck, but don't let my experiences keep you away, Barcelona does have the coolest church I've ever seen.
Plus, it's a really hip city with some great shopping districts and the best buskers in Europe. There's a really great waterfront,
some cool Christopher Columbus stuff,
and a really cool castle perched high above the city that you can climb (or godola) up to.
But honestly, I preferred Madrid. It's a really genuine city with a great mix of modern
and classical artwork and sculptures all over the city.
There's a cool palace,
a really neat modern/ancient church,
and this guy, who you do NOT want to mess with.
Finally, during my long travels, I've finally stumbled across the meaning of irony:
Tomorrow, I'll probably get some Portugal stuff up, and then (drum roll) you'll get to see Christian's Big Picks (my favourite and least favourite places, and reasons why).

Those cubes are neat. Actually reminds me of a sculpture my parents have lying around in their house.
You know, I've said this before, but it bears repeating; Seeing these pictures makes me envy this experience more than words can describe. You always hear about North Americans backpacking across Europe, but to actually SEE what they saw is so different and it's something I really want to do for myself some day. Hopefully you won't be sick of talking about it by the next time I see you, that's all I can say.
You figured out what irony is! I am so happy that Europe taught you something that no one else could. When you left you were a boy and now you are a man...
*Cue Hallelujah* I can see the headline now: CHRISTIAN VAN SOMEREN COMPREHENDS CONCEPT OF IRONY... I'll be telling the Guys that right away.
Glad to see that you made it back to this of the Pond safe and sound. I can't wait to see you in a few weeks so that you can share your sagely knowledge with me!
Yeah, well pictures really don't do it justice, it's all about the experience. Europe's cool because there is so much neat stuff to see, but I'm sure you could have a good time traveling pretty much anywhere.
I intend to wow you all with my supreme ironical prowess.
I should be back in Edmonton sometime next week, see you all then.
